For this client brief, I created a full brand identity design package for a local dog grooming service. This included a logo, typography, illustration, business materials, packaging, and a website.
The Brief
Company Description
At Bubbles Dog Grooming, we specialise in the grooming and daycare of all dogs. All of our team are dog lovers. We not only clean and style, we also welcome your dog into our fun and accommodating daycare too. Our primary audience is busy woman. We aim to project an image of trust, transparency, and fresh appeal.
Job Description
We face strong competition in our local market, so we need a brand identity design package that truly makes us stand out. You are required to create a logo based on the details provided in this brief. We also want a mascot logo featuring clean colours . This logo will be displayed on the company's website, on our service vans, and on our marking materials. Consider the company's values and preferences, ensuring it is suitable for the intended applications.

Tackling the Brief
This is an exciting project! There are lots of great opportuinities here to really help Bubbles Dog Grooming stand out in its community as a values business with much to offer. As they have given me full creative opportunity to design their brand identify, I will start by taking into account their target audience and some key words and phrases from the brief.
Busy women, dog, grooming, mascot, daycare, clean, welcoming, fun, trust, freshness, strong competition.
With this in mind, I can put together a mood board of ideas that I can show the client for approval. This will include imagery, colour pallettes, logo ideas, typography, and textures. After the client has approved on the general brand direction, I can start on the package. It looks like they need the whole kit and caboodle!
This will include package elements such as a new logo, typography, illustration, business materials, and a their new website. This is great as it will help keep the brand consistant. After discussions with the client, they informed me also that they're considering designs to go on their service vehicles and looking to expend into a product offering such as pet treats.
Objectives
As this is an entire brand identity package, the objective was to to design the following elements based off the brief and the client's approved mood board:
To create a bold and distinctive logo
To create a mascot to represent the brand
To create a homepage with contact details for the brand
To create business cards for each of the employees
To create a simple A5 double-sided pamphlet card
To create a social media post
To implement typography and colours based on the brief
Skills & Techniques Used
The deliverables mentioned above were created using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Illustrator is the preferred tool for vector-based graphics like the logo and related marketing materials. Photoshop was ideal for editing the vector art to display the business in action, such as the treats packet offering.
